  • A: Aim at the base on the fire
  • S: Squeeze lever
  • S: Sweep side to side

Thanksgiving Day Safety Tips

  • Clean your appliances to remove leftover grease that may ignite
  • Get a kitchen fire extinguisher and learn how to use it
  • Keep the extinguisher behind you as you're cooking - so you don't have to reach over the flams to grab it
  • Test your smoke alarms AND replace them every 10 years
  • Install smoke alarms at least 10 feet away from cooking appliances - this reduces false alarms
  • Don't leave cooking unattended - it's the leading cause for fires in the kitchen*
  • Avoid wearing long sleeves - they could catch fire
  • Keep a 3-foot "zone of safety" around cooking for kids and pets
  • Planning ot fry a turkey? Never do it inside, NEVER use a frozen turkey and exercise extreme caution
